Treatment for Psoriasis

Psoriasis is a long-lasting autoimmune disease characterized by patches of abnormal skin. These skin patches are typically red, itchy, and scaly. Plaque psoriasis, also known as psoriasis vulgaris, makes up about 90% of cases. It typically presents with red patches with white scales on top. Purification of blood and tissues is the primary aim of Ayurvedic treatment in cases of Psoriasis, eczema and other skin problems. Toxins are cleansed from the body and the digestion restored to prevent further accumulation. Internal herbs are administered to strengthen and tone the tissues to promote complete healing of the skin.

According to Ayurveda skin diseases are deep rooted and need repeated detoxifying procedures. Therefore a minimum of three to four weeks will be needed to create a positive response. Treatments include Snehapana (Intake of ghee/oil), Takradhara, Virechana, Vamana etc along with strict dietary regimen is usually done.
